Pensoft going to the German Ecological Society’s 53rd annual conference

Pensoft will participate in the 53rd annual conference of the German Ecological Society, scheduled from September 9 to 13, 2024, in Freising, Germany. The conference, themed "The future of sustainable land use across ecosystems, landscapes, and biomes," will focus on strategies for implementing sustainable practices in agriculture, forestry, and urban environments, integrating the latest ecological research and applied solutions.
At the event, Pensoft will have a booth, where attendees can discover its selection of open-access ecological journals. Additionally, Pensoft will present the ARPHA Platform, a versatile tool designed for journal management and publishing.
On Wednesday, September 11, from 12:45 to 13:45, Iva Boyadzhieva, head of journal development, PR, and marketing at Pensoft, will lead an interactive lunch session titled "Open Data Publishing in Biodiversity Science and Ecology." The session will address current challenges and potential solutions that ecology and biodiversity researchers face in data publishing.
Moreover, Pensoft will showcase its involvement in several ecological projects. For instance, the company oversees project management, communication, and engagement in the SELINA project, which supports environmental protection, restoration, and sustainable use initiatives.
In the REST-COAST project, which focuses on restoring coastal ecosystems, Pensoft is responsible for dissemination, exploitation, and social transformation tools that help society understand the impacts of climate change and human activities on coastal biodiversity and ecology.
Pensoft also contributes to the SpongeBoost project, which aims to restore the natural water retention function of landscapes. The organisation is involved in communication, dissemination, and sharing of best practices, with a focus on soil, water, and groundwater interconnections for replication across Europe.
